LiveStream Coming 2012!

Hello all!

So the new year is almost here and I'm getting rather excited. 2011 has been a crazy year for me and I'm going to try and make 2012 a special one! So I've quit my job and I've taken up painting full time and plan on making it my lifes work! I'll be documenting my journey to (Hopefully) becoming a profession illustrator from how I study, how I go about looking for work, hopefully my first gig and even further as I chase after my dream^^. So grab a friend and come join me on LiveStream (when its up ^^) we'll be listening to some good music having some laughs and maybe learning a thing or 2 . Thought it might be fun to do the dramatic hampster in my style and it was a super good lesson in painting fur!

New Header!!!

Sooo I've been staring at my old header... and its getting a bit dodge and I can take it no more! Hes been a faithful guardian/ header image but its time to replace it :D. So I took the idea and the colors and re painted it from scratch and it came out most excellent. Its a solid replacement! I'll up load the old image aswell so you can get a comparison.

Bird is the word

just getting back into some more painting rendering after lots of sketching and I'm loving it. Lot of the techniques I used on this came from the website http://www.drawing-tutorials-online.com big plug to that guy sooo much awesome stuff to learn from. As a side note basically the hole time I was on this painting I had the bird is the word song running through my head :P

Just wanted to post a WIP of a pinup I'm doing right now because this is the first time I've actually thought about composition. So this is a super rough sketch of what I'm planning on painting.

So I've been wanting to push textures and lighting a little bit so I figured I'd do a headshot and it turned into a dallas cowboys player from the 70s :D and I have no idea why but I think it came out really cool. Hope you enjoy!

SHUT IT!

Been working on this one on and off for about a week and a half so its about time I just move on :D. I think it turned out pretty good and its definitely pushed me further than any painting I've done to date. The title is actually the inspiration for this its a take on the scottish guy in samurai jack. Hope you enjoy.

The theme this week is starwars so I decided to make the coolest thing I could think of... Chewbacca  as Boba Fett. I rather enjoy this one I was having a good laugh as I was making it.

So its my nephews 2nd bday coming up and since I'm broke (mainly on account on the cintiq :D) I've decided to do a couple paintings and maybe frame one for the family.
