first render test

So for the most part the shot its polished I might get some feed back but I'm not planning on changing to much and this is the first render test I made. I think the shadows are a bit to distracting so I'll be working on those and the guys hair is MIA.

First pass of splining

Splining went pretty quick There is still a lot of problems and I haven't touched the hands yet but before I do anything I'm looking to get some eyes on it. note the little red ball thing is just there for me to see the weight of the chef falling.

Start of Linear

put in a couple more hours today mostly working on the red guy. I find once I hit a point in stepped blocking I have no idea were to go with the shot and I find it very helpful to switch over to linear and keep me working and moving the shot forward.

Cleaning up blocking

Alright so I managed to get a couple more hours into the shot and all of that time was spent researching and redoing the red characters entrance/run. I  feel a lot more confident with runs after studying slowmotion sprinting footage.

end of day blocking

Alright so I only managed about 4hrs of work today and about and hr of that was just reading or listening to critiques friends have made. But anyways Its turning out nicely although I'm not happy with the settle on the fall its pretty much just stand in animation I'll have to wipe that all out. Also, I'm a touch worried about how many poses I have in now and how they all need polishing.

more rough blocking

So I'm happy enough with this rough blocking on the first guy. By rough I mean none of the detail in the poses are done and a lot of it is funky in 3d space.

Taking a break for a bit here thought I'd upload my progress. I'd guess its about an hour of actual animation work and the rest of the day has been spent messing around trying to get maya setup the way I like it :P
